This June holiday, Gardens by the Bay is turned into a magical world with new lands to be discovered and interesting activities await.
We finally get to visit “The Magical Faraway Tree” one of the weekdays, with complimentary magic passes, together with Cherish’s cousin.
The sun was scorching hot on a weekday afternoon, with no wind. Hence I wanted to quickly look for “shelter” before we were burnt out. And there we saw the tall wizard standing from afar. So we went ahead at one of the attractions – Enchanter’s Marvellous Mirror Maze.
Indeed, the air-conditioning inside was marvellous. Haha.
Anyway, it was a little camera zone where you get to take a picture of your kid in wizard costume against a mirror backdrop. Not exactly a maze if you were wondering. It probably took us less than 5 minutes and we were out exploring other lands. (Note: there is no queue when we were there, else there could be waiting times.)
Next, we walked towards the green field where we saw the other attraction, Candy Party, just right ahead. It was opposite the stage where performances are put up according to their programme schedule.
Before I could proceed further, the kids were distracted with the giantic lollipop and watermelon floats laid on the grassland, as well as the wooden see-saw. Despite the humid weather, the children had a lot of fun running on the grass, moving the multiple lollipops, lying down on them, and playing on the see-saws. There were also Uncle Ringo booths and some snack stalls around the grass patch.
The Candy Party, as I have wished for, is air-conditioned!! Whoohoo. It is a huge donut-shaped pool, filled with coloured styrofoam where the children can dive or bury themselves in.
The pool is really small and I believed they monitor the number of children inside (Say, a limited time before the next group is allowed to go in). As the children played in the donut pool, I figured out that they were supposed to look for this blue coloured foam to redeem coins in exchange for the candy capsules. My eyes are sharp sia, I saw it on the wall, else we would have missed it.
I quickly asked the kids to look for BLUE foam. Not to be mixed up with the purplish coloured one. Kinda tricky because the kids cannot really differentiate. I had to tell them purple and blue is different. Anyway, they managed to fish the blue ones out after a while and redeemed 2 coins each.
As we walked out of the Candy Party, the kids ran out to the floats and see-saws again. So we decided to chill a little with some yogurt, under the shade.
Next up, to the Land of Toys for the last attraction under the Magic Pass – Toy Forte. Basically a game of nerf guns. If your child is young, you will need to help them reload, because need a little bit more strength.
There were also other interesting and free activities for the kids – Face/body painting, small bouncing castle, free photo zones for lots of photo taking and magic performance. The magic performance was truly entertaining.
Unfortunately, we missed out the Land of Nursery Rhymes as we were going for another event after this – Cartoon Network Animate Your Life. At this point, the kids were super tired and all of us perspiring very much already. So the tips are, sunblock, water, umbrella and portable fan if you have any (Haha).
